Our Story
Osceola Lake Inn stands on more than a century of history as one of Hendersonville's most iconic lakeside retreats.
Built in 1909 as the Lake View Hotel, the Victorian-era resort opened with wraparound porches, panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and every modern convenience of its day.
The lake, named for Seminole chief Osceola and formed just months before the hotel opened, drew over a thousand visitors on opening weekend, arriving by foot, carriage, and automobile.
By 1915, a Southern Railway guidebook was already praising its boating and fishing.
In 1940, the Rubin family of Florida purchased the property and spent more than six decades transforming it into a beloved full-service resort (think Catskills-style hospitality tucked into the Blue Ridge) with three daily meals, nightly entertainment, tennis courts, a pool, and a loyal following of guests who returned summer after summer.
After changing hands and names in the years that followed, the property is now being revitalized as Osceola Lake Inn, reclaiming its original name and 115-year heritage while weaving Victorian elegance together with contemporary hospitality.
